Construction and Installation Works for the Almaty SuperSki Resort Begin at Kok-Zhailau

Construction and installation works have commenced at Kok-Zhailau as part of the Almaty SuperSki project.
As part of the site preparation activities, construction is underway on a service and access road required to provide access for construction machinery and facilitate the subsequent stages of the project. The works are being carried out in accordance with the approved design documentation and environmental legislation. Author supervision will be performed by JSC KazNIISA, the General Designer and developer of the project documentation.
Archaeological research has also commenced. Archaeological heritage sites are located within the Kok-Zhailau area, and the Institute of Archaeology has therefore been engaged in the project. In the coming days, specialists will begin excavations and surveys of the archaeological sites. Appropriate decisions will be made for each site, including rescue excavations, in situ preservation, museification, or the establishment of a museum exhibition directly within the Kok-Zhailau area.
Specialists are also currently conducting expanded geotechnical investigations.

It is important to note that, according to the research findings, there are no trees listed in the Red Data Book of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the resort area.

Trees located within the construction zone will be preserved wherever possible and transplanted in accordance with the established procedures. Construction of 11 modern cableway systems will begin this month. The French company POMA has been engaged to carry out these works and is currently preparing for mobilisation and the establishment of the construction site.
At the same time, the Akimat of Almaty is carrying out works to restore the electrical substation at Kok-Zhailau, construct an access road along the Kazachka River to the resort boundaries, and relocate green spaces in compliance with the prescribed procedures. These measures are intended to establish the engineering and transport infrastructure required for the further implementation of the project.
